Getting There

    From Liberia, take the Inter-Americana Highway 1 east for approximately 20 minutes. Look for the exit sign for Llanos de Cortes on the right. Follow the signs to the parking lot. From the parking lot, it's a 5-10 minute walk down a cement staircase to the falls. Parking is available at the site. The entrance fee is $7 USD for foreigners and $4 USD for children.

  • Public Transport

    From Liberia, take a bus towards Cañas, San Jose, or Puntarenas. Ask the driver to drop you off at 'la entrada para Llanos del Cortez'. From there, it's about a 2 km walk to the waterfall. Alternatively, take a bus from Liberia to Bagaces. Buses generally leave every hour and cost around 1,500 CRC. From Bagaces, take a taxi to the waterfall, which may cost around 5,000 CRC, but confirm the fare before starting your journey.
