Car
If you are driving from the center of Limón, head southwest on Calle 4 toward Avenida 2. Continue on Avenida 2 for about 12 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 32. Take a left onto Route 32 and follow it for approximately 10 kilometers. Take the exit toward San José, and continue on this road until you see signs for Simón Bolívar Zoo and Botanical Garden. Upon arriving, there is parking available nearby.

From the center of Limón, locate the bus terminal and take a bus heading to San José. The bus ride typically costs around 5,000 CRC (Costa Rican colons) and takes approximately 2 hours. Once you arrive at the San José bus terminal, look for local buses or taxis that can take you to the Simón Bolívar Zoo and Botanical Garden. You may find taxis readily available outside the terminal, or use local bus services, which will cost around 300 CRC for a short ride.
