If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Nicoya town. Head west on Route 150 towards Santa Cruz. After approximately 22 km, merge onto Route 21 towards Paquera. Continue for about 28 km until you reach the junction to Route 160. Take Route 160 towards Mal Pais/Santa Teresa. The road will become a gravel road as you approach the beach. Follow the signs to Santa Teresa beach, and look for the coordinates JRRJ+VFF on your GPS. Parking is available near the beach, but be prepared for a small fee, usually around $5.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, begin by taking a bus from Nicoya to Santa Cruz. The bus departs from the Nicoya bus station and costs around $2. Upon arriving in Santa Cruz, transfer to a bus to Paquera. This leg of the journey costs about $3. Once in Paquera, catch the bus to Santa Teresa, which will take about 1.5 hours and costs approximately $5. Ensure to check the bus schedules as they can vary, and be ready for a longer travel time due to road conditions. The bus will drop you off at a central location in Santa Teresa, from where you can walk or take a short taxi ride (around $2-3) to the beach.
