Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Puerto Viejo, head south on Calle 219. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida 71. Take a left onto Avenida 71, and follow this road for approximately 2 kilometers. You will start to see signs directing you to Parque Nacional Cahuita. The entrance to the park will be on your right.

  • Bicycle Rental

    Rent a bicycle from one of the many shops in Puerto Viejo. Once you have your bike, head south on Calle 219 and take a left onto Avenida 71. Cycling down Avenida 71 will take you directly to Parque Nacional Cahuita in about 15-20 minutes. Look out for the entrance on your right.

  • Public Bus

    From the main bus station in Puerto Viejo, take a bus heading towards Cahuita. Buses run frequently, so you shouldn't have to wait long. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to Parque Nacional Cahuita, which is marked by signs. From there, it's a short walk to the park entrance.
