Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Puerto Viejo, head east towards the beach on Calle 203. Continue walking for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the intersection with Avenida 71. Turn right onto Avenida 71 and keep walking for approximately 10 minutes. You will see signs for Parque Nacional Cahuita as you approach the entrance, which will be on your left.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Puerto Viejo. Start from the main street, Calle 203, and cycle east towards the beach. Once you reach the beach, follow the shoreline road until you hit Avenida 71. Turn right onto Avenida 71. The park entrance will be on your left after about 10 minutes of cycling.

  • Public Bus

    Head to the bus station in Puerto Viejo, located near the center of town. Look for a bus heading to Cahuita. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Cahuita, get off at the main stop. Walk back along the main road (Avenida 71) for about 5 minutes, and you will find the entrance to Parque Nacional Cahuita on your left.

  • Taxi

    Hail a taxi from anywhere in Puerto Viejo. Provide the driver with the destination: 'Parque Nacional Cahuita, Avenida 71 215'. The ride should take approximately 15 minutes. The taxi will drop you off right at the entrance of the park.
