If you are driving from within Rincon de la Vieja National Park, head south on the main road toward Liberia. At the junction, take the exit for Route 1, heading northwest. Follow Route 1 for approximately 22 kilometers until you reach the town of Bijagua de Upala. From Bijagua, continue on Route 1 for about 5 kilometers, then turn left onto the Tenorio Volcano National Park Road. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will see Tapir Valley Nature Reserve on your right, just after the Celeste Mountain Lodge.
