    To reach Rio San Carlos using public transportation, start at the main bus terminal in San Carlos. Look for buses heading towards Ciudad Quesada or La Fortuna. The fare is typically around 500-1000 CRC (Costa Rican Colón). After about a 30-minute ride, ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Rio San Carlos. From there, you may need to walk or catch a taxi for the final stretch, as public transportation may not take you directly to the river. Expect to spend an additional 2000-3000 CRC for the taxi ride if needed.

    If you are driving from the center of San Carlos, head northwest on Route 4 towards Ciudad Quesada. Continue for about 6 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 35. Take a left onto Route 35 and follow it for approximately 10 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Rio San Carlos, and be prepared to turn onto a smaller road leading towards the river. There may be some unpaved sections, so drive carefully.
