Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from any location in the Dubrovnik Riviera and head towards the city of Dubrovnik. Follow the signs for 'Dubrovnik' and merge onto D8 highway. Continue driving until you reach the city center. Once you arrive in Dubrovnik, pay attention to parking signs as parking can be limited. The nearest parking area to the St. Mary Defensive Wall is in the Old Town. After parking, walk towards the Pile Gate, which is the main entrance to the Old Town. Once you enter, continue straight along the main street until you reach the St. Mary Defensive Wall, located near the Franciscan Monastery. Make sure to have some kuna (HRK) for parking fees, which can vary depending on the duration.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from various locations in the Dubrovnik Riviera to Dubrovnik. Buses run frequently from towns like Cavtat, Mlini, and others. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest timings. Once you arrive at the Dubrovnik bus station, you can either walk or take a local bus to the Old Town. If walking, exit the bus station and head towards the Pile Gate, which is approximately a 20-minute walk. After entering the Old Town through the Pile Gate, walk straight along the main street until you reach the St. Mary Defensive Wall.   If you are already in Dubrovnik Old Town, the St. Mary Defensive Wall is easily accessible on foot. From the main square (Luza Square), head west towards the Franciscan Monastery. The wall is located adjacent to the monastery. Just follow the signs leading to historical landmarks, and you will find St. Mary Defensive Wall. This is a great way to explore the charming streets of the Old Town while walking to your destination.
