Ferry
From Dubrovnik, walk to the Port of Gruž (about 20-30 minutes from the Old Town). At the port, look for the Jadrolinija ferry ticket office. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to Sućuraj, which is on the eastern tip of Hvar island. The ferry ride takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Sućuraj, disembark and follow the signs to the local bus station.

At the Sućuraj bus station, board the bus heading toward Hvar Town. The bus ride will take about 40 minutes. Make sure to ask the driver to let you know when you reach Hvar Town, as this is your stop. Once in Hvar Town, you can either take a taxi or a local bus to Zavala na Hvaru.

If you choose to take a taxi from Hvar Town, you can find taxis near the main square. The taxi ride to Zavala na Hvaru will take approximately 20 minutes.
