The cable car was lovingly restored and reopened in 2010, offering an improved and more popular experience.Each of the cable car's two cabins accommodates up to 32 passengers for the 778-meter journey. As you ascend, the views of Dubrovnik's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, become increasingly stunning, with the Adriatic Sea and Elaphiti Islands stretching out before you.At the summit, 405 meters above sea level, you'll find several terraces equipped with binocular telescopes, a panoramic restaurant, a souvenir shop, and the Imperial Fortress. The fortress, built by Napoleon in the 19th century, houses the Museum of Homeland War, a poignant reminder of the city's resilience. For those seeking outdoor activities, hiking trails lead from the Imperial Fortress to Strinčjera Fortress, offering even more spectacular views. Whether you're capturing the perfect sunset photo, exploring historical landmarks, or simply soaking in the scenery, the Dubrovnik Cable Car provides an unforgettable experience.

Getting There
Walking
From Dubrovnik's Old Town, the lower cable car station is easily accessible on foot. Exit the Old Town through the Pile Gate or Ploče Gate. From Pile Gate, walk north for about 10-12 minutes, following signs for the cable car. Alternatively, from Stradun, ascend the stairs towards Buža Gate, cross the Iza Grada parking lot, and take the stairs to the station. Be aware that the route from Stradun involves a significant number of steps. There is no cost associated with walking.
Public Transport
For visitors arriving by cruise ship at Gruž Harbour, take bus number 8 directly to the cable car station. A single bus ticket costs approximately €2, payable in cash to the driver. The journey takes around 10 minutes.
