    From Pile Gate, the main entrance to Dubrovnik's Old Town, walk straight along the Stradun (main street) towards the harbor. Continue along the coastline, passing the marina and small beaches. The fortress will be visible on the hill to your left. The entrance is located along the water's edge.

    Local Libertas buses serve the Old Town area. From the main bus station, take bus number 1A or 1B to Pile Gate. From there, follow the walking directions to the fortress. A single bus ticket costs €1.73 if purchased at a kiosk or €1.99 if purchased on the bus. Tickets are valid for one hour.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available in Dubrovnik. A taxi from the main bus station to Pile Gate, the entrance to the Old Town, will cost approximately €12. From Pile Gate, follow the walking directions to the fortress. Note that taxis cannot enter the Old Town itself.
