Grad Dubrovnik, often called the Old Town, is a historical area within the city of Dubrovnik, situated in the Gruž neighborhood. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site in 1979, it stands as a testament to Croatia's rich cultural heritage. The Old Town's history dates back to the 7th century when it was founded by refugees from Epidaurum. As you explore the narrow, cobblestone streets, you'll encounter iconic landmarks such as the city walls, offering views of the Adriatic Sea. These walls, which have protected the city for centuries, are a marvel of defensive architecture. Within the walls, discover well-preserved buildings like the Rector's Palace and Sponza Palace, showcasing intricate designs and reflecting Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.
