Although the Holy House was later moved to Loreto, Italy, Trsat remained a vital pilgrimage point.In 1453, Prince Martin Frankopan built the Franciscan monastery next to the Church of Our Lady, establishing it as a Franciscan center. Over the centuries, the monastery has been renovated and expanded, most notably in the Baroque style after a fire in 1629. Today, the monastery complex includes a church, cloisters, a library, and gardens.Visitors can explore the monastery's well-maintained grounds, adorned with gardens and peaceful pathways. Inside, the monastery showcases religious art, historical manuscripts, and artifacts. The church features a luxurious main altar built in 1692 and various artistic works from the 17th and 18th centuries.
