From either of the parking lots outside the city walls, the Town Gate is easily accessible by foot. Follow the main road towards the town center. The gate is located along Ul. Joakima Rakovca and serves as the primary entrance to the old town. Be prepared for a moderately steep uphill walk on cobblestone streets. The walk from the lower parking takes around 15 minutes.

If arriving by bus from nearby towns like Pazin or Buzet, the bus will stop on the road below the hill. From the bus stop, follow the signs towards the old town, which involves an uphill walk of approximately 15-20 minutes to reach the Town Gate. Bus tickets from Pazin to Motovun cost approximately $7-$10.

While you cannot drive directly to the Town Gate, you can drive to one of the parking lots located outside the city walls. Parking costs approximately 4-7 euros for a 24-hour ticket. During peak season, the parking lot closer to the town fills up quickly. From the parking lots, it is a short walk to the Town Gate.
