The Round Bastion: A Sentinel of Labin's Past

Getting There

• Walking

  The Round Bastion is located within Labin's old town, easily accessible on foot from most points within the town center. From the Labin bus station, head northeast on Ulica 1. Maja, then turn right onto Ulica Maršala Tita, following signs to the old town. The bastion is near the main square. Walking from the bus station takes approximately 15-20 minutes. There is no fee to enter the old town or visit the Round Bastion.

• Public Transport

  To reach The Round Bastion by public transport, take a bus to Labin from major towns in Istria such as Pula, Rovinj, or Opatija. Once you arrive at the Labin bus station, you can either walk (around 15-20 minutes) or take a local taxi to the old town area. The bus fare to Labin varies depending on the origin, but a typical fare from Pula is around 40-60 HRK. A local taxi from the Labin bus station to the old town will cost approximately 50-70 HRK.

• Car

  If driving to The Round Bastion, start on the A9 motorway (Istrian Y) and follow signs for Pazin/Labin. Take the exit towards Labin and continue on the D66 road. Once in Labin, follow signs to the city center and the old town. Parking is available at nearby lots, but fees may apply. Parking near the old town costs approximately 5-10 HRK per hour. Note that parking can be limited during peak season.
