Walking
Starting from the main square in Makarska (Trg Frankopana), head towards the waterfront promenade (Riva). Walk along the promenade towards the west, enjoying the view of the sea and islands. Continue walking until you reach the end of the promenade where the road curves. At this point, keep following the road (D8) in the same direction. You will pass by various cafes and shops. Continue for about 15-20 minutes until you reach a sign pointing towards Plaža Prvi žal. Follow the signs down to the beach area.

From the main bus station in Makarska, take a local bus heading towards Brela or Baška Voda. Inform the driver to stop at the nearest stop for Plaža Prvi žal. The journey will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you get off the bus, follow the walking path leading towards the beach. Make sure to ask locals for directions if you're unsure.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Makarska. From the rental shop, head towards the waterfront promenade (Riva) and cycle west along the coast. Follow the same route as described for walking, keeping the sea on your right. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes. Look for signs indicating Plaža Prvi žal as you approach the beach area.
