Walking
If you are in the center of Split, start at the famous Riva waterfront promenade. Head towards the eastern end of the promenade. You will see the large Diocletian's Palace entrance, known as the 'Golden Gate.' Walk through the gate and into the palace area. Once inside, follow the main path straight ahead until you reach the Peristyle, a grand open space surrounded by ancient columns.
