To reach Marija Bistrica from Zagreb city center, start by taking the tram line 6 from 'Kvaternikov trg' towards 'Sava'. Get off at 'Maksimir', where you will transfer to a bus. Board bus number 289 towards 'Marija Bistrica'. This bus will take you directly to Marija Bistrica. The journey should take around 1.5 hours in total, depending on traffic and waiting times.
Train
From Zagreb's main train station (Glavni kolodvor), take a train towards 'Zabok'. Once you arrive at the 'Zabok' station, transfer to bus number 289 that goes to 'Marija Bistrica'. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes, and the bus ride from Zabok to Marija Bistrica will take about 20 minutes.
Walking
If you are nearby, you can walk to Marija Bistrica by following the local trails and pathways that connect to the surrounding nature. However, this option is not recommended for tourists unfamiliar with the area due to the distance and navigation challenges.
