Discover more about CyHerbia Botanical Park & Labyrinth

CyHerbia Botanical Park & Labyrinth, nestled in the village of Avgorou, Cyprus, offers a captivating escape into the world of herbs, nature, and immersive experiences. Founded in 2004 by Miranda Tringis, a herbalist, and her husband Adam, the park began as a medicinal plant nursery and has blossomed into a nine-hectare haven boasting diverse attractions, including themed herb gardens, a hedge maze, a woodland shaped like the island of Cyprus, and a lavender labyrinth. As you enter CyHerbia, you're greeted by the Lavender Boutique Shop, where you can purchase tickets and gather information for your visit. The park's centerpiece is its collection of nine themed organic herb gardens, each dedicated to a specific category of herbs, such as medicinal, culinary, and aromatic varieties. Strolling through these gardens is a sensory delight, with vibrant colors, intoxicating fragrances, and the gentle hum of pollinators creating a tranquil atmosphere. Informative signage provides insights into the health benefits and traditional uses of each herb, enriching your understanding of Cypriot and Mediterranean flora. One of CyHerbia's most popular attractions is its impressive hedge maze, the only one of its kind in Cyprus. Constructed from over 2,000 young plants, the maze challenges visitors to find their way to the center, where a viewing platform awaits, offering panoramic views of the park's verdant landscape. The maze is not only a fun activity for all ages but also a testament to the creativity and dedication of the park's founders. For a more contemplative experience, venture into the lavender meditation labyrinth, a circular path lined with fragrant lavender bushes. As you walk the labyrinth, brushing against the lavender, you can immerse yourself in its calming aroma and find a sense of inner peace. The labyrinth is designed to promote relaxation and mindfulness, offering a welcome respite from the stresses of daily life. The woodland shaped like Cyprus is another unique feature of CyHerbia, showcasing the island's endemic trees and shrubs. As you wander through this miniature representation of Cyprus, you'll encounter seven cultural heritage sites marked along the path, as well as a charming fairy village and a witch's cottage, adding a touch of enchantment to your journey. The woodland provides a tranquil setting for a leisurely stroll, allowing you to connect with the natural beauty of Cyprus. CyHerbia also features a distillation room, where visitors can witness the extraction of essential oils from the park's herbs. Knowledgeable staff explain the distillation process and highlight the various applications of essential oils in aromatherapy, medicine, and cosmetics. The park produces its own range of organic herbal teas, tinctures, creams, and cosmetics, which are available for purchase in the botanical shop. After exploring the park, you can relax and rejuvenate at the Botanicus Bistro, which offers fresh vegetarian and vegan dishes made with herbs and produce from the gardens. The bistro overlooks the herb gardens, providing a scenic backdrop for a delicious and healthy meal. A complimentary cup of herbal tea is included with your admission, allowing you to savor the flavors of CyHerbia.
