    The Kannoures - Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis trail is best accessed from the main Karvounas - Troodos Square road, 1km before Troodos Square. The trail descends into the valley towards the Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis church. From the church, it is possible to continue to Kakopetria by following the Pedoulas - Kakopetria road for approximately 3km.

    While public transport directly to the trailhead is limited, buses connect major cities to Troodos Square. From Troodos Square, walk 1km along the Karvounas road to the trail's starting point. The oldest murals date back to the 11th century and include scenes from the life of Jesus. Optionally, continue 3km to Kakopetria, known for its traditional stone houses and riverside setting.
