    From the center of Nicosia, head to a bus stop serving routes towards Strovolos. Bus 34 is a common route. Alight at the 'Strovolos' stop. The Armenian Genocide Monument in Strovolos, Nicosia, stands as a solemn tribute to the 1.5 million Armenian martyrs who perished in the Armenian Genocide of 1915-1923. The monument, constructed of white marble, is located within the Armenian complex on Armenia Street in Acropolis, Strovolos, which also houses the Armenian Prelature building, the Sourp Asdvadzadzin cathedral, the Nareg Armenian School, and other symbols of Armenian culture and history. The monument features three imposing arches, which symbolize Armenia, the Armenian Diaspora, and Armenians within the former Soviet Union. At the center of the main arch stands a black granite cross, a sculpture by the renowned Armenian artist Levon Tokmadjian. The monument is set on a raised marble base and bears inscriptions in Greek, Armenian, and English, serving as a multilingual testament to the enduring memory of the genocide. In 1996, the monument became the final resting place for bone remains of genocide martyrs, brought from the Der Zor desert in Syria. Further ossuaries were added in 2000, creating a space for quiet contemplation and remembrance.
