Travel Guide to Upper Square

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Olomouc train station, exit the station and head straight down Krapkova Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Masarykova Street. Turn left onto Masarykova Street and walk straight, passing the Church of St. Michael on your left. Continue walking until you reach the main square, which is the Upper Square (Horní náměstí). The square is easily recognizable by its impressive historical buildings and the famous Holy Trinity Column.

• Walking

  If you are near the Olomouc city center, head towards the main pedestrian area, which is through the street Hynaisova. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with the Upper Square. The square will be on your right, and you will see the Holy Trinity Column as you approach.

• Public Transport

  If you are coming from a further location in Olomouc, take tram line 1 or 2 and get off at the stop 'Náměstí Hrdinů'. From there, head north along 28. října Street until you reach the Upper Square. It should take about 5-10 minutes on foot. As you walk, you will see the beautiful architecture of the square in the distance.

• Walking

  From the Olomouc Regional Museum, head east on the street towards the Upper Square. Walk along the route that takes you through the park area until you reach the square. The walk will take around 10-15 minutes, and you will enjoy the sights of the historic buildings along the way.
