Public Transport

To reach Blanský les from Český Krumlov, take a bus from the main bus station (Autobusové nádraží) towards Křemže. Buses run approximately every hour, and the journey takes about 25 minutes. From the Křemže bus stop, it's roughly a 15-minute walk to the entrance of Blanský les. A single bus fare will typically cost around 20-30 CZK.

Car

If driving from Český Krumlov, take road E55 heading northeast. After about 8 km, signs for Blanský les will appear. Follow the signs to Křemže and park in designated areas near the forest entrance. Parking fees are typically around 50 CZK for the day. Be aware that parking may be limited during peak season.

Walking

From Křemže, the entrance to Blanský les is approximately a 15-minute walk. Follow the signs from the bus stop or town center. The walk is relatively easy, but comfortable shoes are recommended.

Blanský les, declared a protected landscape area in 1989, spans 212 square kilometers of the South Bohemian region, north of Český Krumlov. This vast, well-preserved landscape boasts geological diversity, mixed forests, and a unique position near the Alps and within the Bohemian Forest rain shadow.Visitors can explore numerous marked trails suitable for families and experienced hikers alike. The area is rich in historical monuments, including the Kratochvile castle near Netolice and the Church of St. Bartholomew in Blanice. The jewel of South Bohemia offers diverse flora and fauna, perfect for birdwatching and wildlife photography.The highest peak, Kleť Mountain (1,084m), features Bohemia's oldest stone lookout tower, built in 1825, offering panoramic views extending to the Austrian Alps on clear days. A mountain hut provides food and lodging, while an observatory near the summit offers public tours. The area is accessible year-round, ensuring unforgettable memories of this enchanting natural wonder.
