Discover more about Castle park

Escape the bustle of Třeboň in the calming embrace of the Castle Park (Zámecký park). This verdant space, located west of the Třeboň Castle, has evolved from a marshy area into a stunning English-style landscape park. Originally, in the late 16th century, Petr Vok of the Rosenberg family initiated the creation of a castle garden. However, a pivotal transformation occurred in 1804 when the garden was redesigned into the English park that visitors enjoy today. The Schwarzenberg family, who owned the castle for nearly 300 years until 1947, significantly contributed to the park's development. They enriched it with exotic plants, floral parterres, and a fountain. After 1945, the park was opened to the public, allowing everyone to appreciate its beauty. Today, it remains a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, offering a peaceful retreat with its ponds, flower beds, and numerous trees and benches. The park also serves as a venue for cultural events, adding a unique backdrop to various performances and gatherings. Visitors can explore the well-maintained gardens, relax in the serene atmosphere, and enjoy short walks on the grassy areas and paths. The park's charm and accessibility make it an ideal destination for families, including those with disabled children.
