Helfenburk Castle, located near Bavorov in South Bohemia, is a sprawling ruin that offers a glimpse into the region's rich history. Built in the 14th century, the castle's remains cover 1.27 hectares, making it one of the largest castle ruins in the Czech Republic. The castle was constructed by the brothers of Rosenberg after permission was granted by Charles IV in 1355. In 1593, it was sold to the town of Prachatice. After the Battle of White Mountain, the castle was confiscated and eventually came under the ownership of the Schwarzenberg family.
