Žižkova mohyla stands as a tribute to Jan Žižka of Trocnov, a legendary Czech general and a significant leader in the Hussite Wars. The memorial marks the location where Žižka is believed to have died in October 1424. The monument was unveiled in 1874, commemorating the 450th anniversary of Žižka's death. The memorial was designed by Antonín Wiehl and constructed by Josef Šupich. The nearly 15-meter-high monument features a design with stones from different places in Bohemia and a nearly two-meter calyx at the top, a symbol of Czech Hussitism. From the monument, visitors can enjoy views of the surrounding landscape, including Melechov hill and Lipnice nad Sázavou castle. The site provides a tranquil space for visitors to reflect.
