Getting There

  • Car

    To reach Tony Florio Woodland Beach Wildlife Area from Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, start by exiting the refuge onto Route 9 (Smyrna-Leipsic Road). Continue on Route 9 for approximately 5.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Take the ramp to merge onto Route 1 South towards Dover. Stay on Route 1 for about 8 miles. Take exit 114 for Route 13 North towards Smyrna. Once you exit, continue on Route 13 North for about 5 miles. Turn left onto Florio Road. The wildlife area will be on your right. Note that there may be a small parking fee, so be prepared with cash or a credit card.

    Using public transportation from Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge is limited. However, you can take a DART First State bus from the nearest stop to the refuge. First, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Route 9. Board the bus heading towards Smyrna. You will need to transfer at the Smyrna transit center to catch the bus heading towards Dover. After reaching Dover, take another bus towards Route 13 North. Get off at the nearest stop to Florio Road and walk approximately 1 mile to reach Tony Florio Woodland Beach Wildlife Area.
