Driving
From Lewes, follow Cape Henlopen Drive north. The park entrance is well-marked. Once inside, follow signs to your desired destination, such as the beach, Fort Miles, or the Seaside Nature Center. Parking is available throughout the park, but can be limited during peak season. Daily entrance fees apply from March 1 to November 30: $5 for Delaware residents, $10 for out-of-state vehicles. Parking is included in the entrance fee.
Public Transport
The DART First State Route 204 provides access to Cape Henlopen State Park from various points in Lewes and Rehoboth Beach. Check the DART website for schedules and stops. From the bus stop within the park, follow signs to your chosen attraction. A single ride fare is $2.00.
Walking
From Lewes, you can walk or bike to Cape Henlopen State Park via the Junction and Breakwater Trail. This scenic trail connects Lewes to Rehoboth and passes through the park. Once inside the park, follow the paved bike paths or walking trails to reach different areas. There is no fee to walk or bike into the park, but standard entrance fees apply to vehicles.
Ferry
The Cape May-Lewes Ferry connects Cape May, NJ, to Lewes, DE, near Cape Henlopen State Park. From the Lewes ferry terminal, it's a short drive or bike ride to the park. Follow Cape Henlopen Drive north to reach the park entrance. Ferry tickets for pedestrians cost around $10-$13. Additional fees apply for vehicles.
