Getting There

Car
From Wilmington, DE, take I-95 S toward Baltimore. After approximately 10 miles, take exit 1B for DE-1 S toward Rehoboth Beach. Continue on DE-1 S for about 15 miles. Take exit 173 for DE-299 W toward Middletown. Follow DE-299 for about 4 miles until you reach the intersection with DE-15 S. Turn left onto DE-15 S and follow it for about 3 miles. Turn right onto DE-9 W and continue for about 1 mile. You will see the Westernmost Point of Delaware on your left, just past the intersection with DE-219. There is no entrance fee for visiting this landmark.

Public Transportation
From Wilmington, you can take the DART First State bus route 25 to the Christiana Mall. From there, transfer to route 40. Disembark at the intersection of DE-15 S and DE-9 W. The Westernmost Point of Delaware is a 20-minute walk from this stop. Note that DART bus fares typically range from $1.75 to $2.25 per ride, depending on the distance.

If you prefer a more adventurous route, you can cycle from Middletown. Start at the Middletown Town Center and head west on DE-299. After about 4 miles, turn left onto DE-15 S and continue for about 3 miles. Then turn right onto DE-9 W. The Westernmost Point of Delaware will be about 1 mile ahead. This route is approximately 8 miles total and is suitable for cyclists with a moderate level of fitness.
