The only way to reach Fort Delaware State Park on Pea Patch Island is by ferry from Delaware City. The ferry dock is located at 45 Clinton Street, Delaware City, DE 19706. Purchase ferry tickets online in advance or at the ticket office. Ferry tickets cost $15 for adults (13+), $8 for children (2-12), and $14 for seniors (62+) and military personnel. Children under 2 ride free. The ferry ride is approximately a half-mile. Check the ferry schedule as it varies seasonally. Please check-in at the Ticket Shop 15 minutes prior to your ferry time in order to pick up your tickets.

The walk from the ferry dock to the tram pick-up site is approximately 100 yards. Visitors who may have trouble walking this distance can inform the ferry captain to arrange for a ride down the dock.
