Getting There

Walking

From the Wilmington Amtrak/SEPTA station, walk south on Market Street, then turn left onto West Street. Continue onto West Street until you reach South Madison Street. The Delaware Contemporary will be on your left. The walk is approximately 10 minutes.
Public Transport

The Delaware Contemporary is accessible via DART Route 32 (the Wilmington Trolley). Check the DART website for schedules and fare information. A single ride fare is $2.00.
Driving

From I-95, take Exit 6 and follow the signs for the Riverfront. Turn onto Justison Street, and then take an immediate right into the Delaware Contemporary parking lot after going under the train tracks. Free parking is available onsite.

The 33,000-square-foot building houses seven galleries, 26 artist studios, an auditorium, a classroom, and a museum shop. Over 24 exhibitions are presented annually, featuring a diverse range of artists and exploring topical issues in contemporary art and society.In addition to its exhibitions, The Delaware Contemporary offers a variety of educational and community outreach programs. These include artist residencies with underserved community groups and Contemporary Connections, a program that integrates art with school curriculums. The museum also hosts monthly events like Open Figure Drawing and programs that combine art and wellness. The Delaware Contemporary affirms its role as a cultural institution committed to upholding public trust, creative integrity, and expanding artistic access.
