Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head toward the city center of Copenhagen. Use GPS to navigate to Bertel Thorvaldsens Plads 2, 1213 København K. There are parking options nearby, including street parking and parking garages. Be aware that parking in the city can be limited and may incur costs, typically around 20 DKK per hour. Once parked, the museum is just a short walk away.

• Public Transportation - Metro

  Take the Metro line M1 (the green line) towards Vanløse. Get off at the Kongens Nytorv station. From there, it’s approximately a 10-minute walk to Thorvaldsens Museum. Exit the station and head towards the Nyhavn canal. Continue walking straight until you reach Bertel Thorvaldsens Plads. The museum will be on your right. The Metro ticket costs around 36 DKK for adults.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  You can take bus number 1A or 26 towards the city center. If taking bus 1A, get off at the 'Gammel Strand' stop. From there, it’s a 5-minute walk to the museum. For bus 26, get off at 'København Rådhuspladsen' and walk about 10 minutes. A single bus ticket costs approximately 24 DKK.

• Walking

  If you're already in the vicinity, Thorvaldsens Museum is located near the Nyhavn area, making it easily accessible by foot. Simply head towards Bertel Thorvaldsens Plads from wherever you are in central Copenhagen. The walk is pleasant and you will pass by several shops and cafes.
