Car from Skanderborg
From Skanderborg town centre, follow route 52 towards Silkeborg for approximately 8 kilometres. Turn right onto Klostermøllevej and continue for about 2 kilometres to reach Klostermølle. A free parking lot is located immediately south of the buildings on Klostermøllevej, with space for both cars and buses. Journey time is approximately 15–20 minutes.
Public bus from Skanderborg Station
From Skanderborg Station, take bus line 200 towards Klostermølle and get off at the Klostermøllevej stop. Klostermølle is a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop. Journey time is approximately 20–30 minutes depending on service frequency. Check local bus schedules in advance as timetables vary seasonally.
Canoe access via Gudenå River
Klostermølle serves as a major transfer point for canoe journeys on the Gudenå River. An access card (125 DKK, valid 3 days) can be purchased from Tørring Teltplads; the card is included with authorized canoe rentals. The site has a dedicated campsite with free overnight stays (maximum 2 nights) for paddlers, making it ideal for multi-day river journeys.
Walking from nearby villages
Klostermølle is accessible via scenic walking trails from nearby villages such as Ry and Gammel Rye. Walking routes through forests and along the mill canal connect the site to the broader Lake District trail network. Allow 1–2 hours depending on starting point and terrain.
