From Roseau, take a minibus towards Laudat from the Valley Road bus stop. The fare is between EC$2 and EC$11 (US$1-4). Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction near Laudat where the road to Freshwater Lake begins. From there, it's approximately a 2.5-mile (4 km) uphill walk to the lake. Alternatively, hire a taxi in Laudat for EC$20-30 for the final leg.

From Roseau, a taxi to Laudat costs approximately EC$80-100 (US$30-37) and takes about 15-20 minutes. Arrange for the taxi to continue to Freshwater Lake, or take another taxi from Laudat to the lake for an additional EC$20-30. Taxi services include Tru Taxi Service, Master Taxi & Tours, and Dominica Taxi Association.

Driving
From Roseau, take Valley Road towards Laudat. The drive is approximately 25-30 minutes. As you approach Laudat, follow the paved road uphill. At the T-junction near Laudat, turn right and continue until you reach the Freshwater Lake parking lot. Exercise caution on bends as the road can be narrow. Parking is available at the lot near the lake.
