Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from the Amazon region, head towards the city of Quito first. From Quito, take the Pan-American Highway (E28) south towards Ambato. Continue on E28 until you reach the city of Guayaquil. Once in Guayaquil, follow the signs for the coastal highway (Ruta del Sol). Continue on this road until you see signs for Playa Santa Marianita. The beach is located approximately 15 km south of Manta. The total drive may take around 10-12 hours, so plan accordingly with rest stops and refueling.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Playa Santa Marianita using public transportation, start by taking a bus from your location in the Amazon to Quito. The bus ride to Quito will take approximately 8-10 hours. Once in Quito, transfer to a bus heading to Manta. The bus ride from Quito to Manta takes about 10-12 hours. After arriving in Manta, you can take a local taxi or a bus to Playa Santa Marianita, which is about a 20-minute drive from Manta. Expect to pay around $2-$3 for the taxi or bus fare.

• Combination of Car and Public Transport

  If you prefer a combination of car and public transport, consider driving to a nearby major city such as Ambato or Guayaquil. From there, you can park your car at a secure parking facility and take a bus to Manta. Upon arriving in Manta, use local transportation to reach Playa Santa Marianita. This option allows for flexibility in your travel schedule while minimizing long drives.
