Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey in the city of Riobamba, which is the closest major city. From Riobamba, take the E35 highway heading southwest. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will see signs for 'Volcán Chimborazo' directing you to turn right onto the road leading to the park. Drive for about 20 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Chimborazo National Park. There is an entrance fee of $2 per person. From the entrance, follow the road that leads to the base of the volcano. The total drive from Riobamba to the volcano base takes about 1 hour.

To reach Volcano Chimborazo via public transportation, first, take a bus from Riobamba to the town of Cevallos. Buses depart frequently from the Riobamba bus terminal, and the fare is approximately $1.50. Once in Cevallos, you will need to take a taxi to the entrance of Chimborazo National Park. The taxi ride costs around $10 and takes about 30 minutes. After arriving at the park entrance, there is a $2 entrance fee. Follow the designated road to the volcano base.
