If you are driving to Cañón Rojo, start from the main entrance of Cotopaxi National Park, located on the Panamerican Highway (E35). Follow the signs to Cotopaxi National Park. Once inside the park, continue on the main road until you reach the parking area near the Limpiopungo Lagoon. From the lagoon, look for the sign that indicates the trail to Cañón Rojo. Park your car and start your hike along the marked trail. The hike to Cañón Rojo is approximately 2 kilometers and takes about 30-45 minutes. Be sure to wear sturdy hiking boots and carry sufficient water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the trail.
