To reach Cuicocha Lake from Mindo Cloud Forest by car, start by driving southeast on the E28 highway. Follow the signs towards Quito. After approximately 1 hour, you will reach the town of Nanegalito. Continue on the E28 until you reach the town of Cotacachi, which takes about 2 hours. In Cotacachi, turn left onto the E35 highway towards Otavalo. After about 15 minutes, look for the signs directing you to Cuicocha Lake. Follow the signs for about 30 minutes until you arrive at the Cuicocha Lake entrance.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, first take a bus from Mindo to Quito. The bus departs from the main terminal and takes approximately 2 hours. From Quito, head to the Terminal Terrestre Quitumbe and catch a bus to Cotacachi, which takes about 1.5 hours. Once in Cotacachi, look for a bus heading to Cuicocha Lake. This final leg should take around 30 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they can vary throughout the day.
