Driving
From the Papallacta Hot Springs, head northeast on the main road (E28) towards Papallacta. After approximately 2 kilometers, look for a sign indicating the turn to BIRDWATCHING SAN JOSE near the coordinates JV96+3X3. Turn off the main road and follow the dirt path for about 1 kilometer, keeping an eye out for any directional signs. The destination will be on your right. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for dirt roads. There may be no parking fees.

Start at the main bus station in Papallacta. Take a local bus heading towards Quito that stops near the area of JV96+3X3. Inform the bus driver of your destination, and they will let you off close to BIRDWATCHING SAN JOSE, which is approximately 1 kilometer away from the bus stop. From there, you can walk along the dirt road to the right for about 15 minutes to reach your destination. The bus fare is typically around $0.50, but confirm with the driver.
