Walking
The Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción is located in the heart of Cuenca's historic center, on Benigno Malo street, making it easily accessible on foot from most central locations. From Parque Calderón, simply head towards the large blue-domed structure; it's impossible to miss. No costs involved.
Public Transport
Cuenca's extensive bus system and the Tranvía (light rail) provide convenient access to the cathedral. Numerous bus routes pass near Parque Calderón, where the cathedral is located. Look for buses displaying 'Parque Calderón' or 'Centro Histórico'. The Tranvía also stops at Parque Calderón. Bus fares are $0.30, and Tranvía fares are $0.35 with a Tranvía card. You can buy the Movilizate card for the bus at the Terminal Terrestre bus station or the ETAPA office on Gran Colombia y Tarqui. A Tranvia card can be obtained at the Terminal Terrestre bus station, the Cuenca airport, or at a window in the Tranvia Etapa office on the corner of Gran Colombia and Tarqui streets.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available throughout Cuenca. You can hail one from the street or use the AzuTaxi app. A short taxi ride to the cathedral from elsewhere in the city center will typically cost between $1.50 and $3. Be sure the driver uses the meter.
