The site is named 'رباط الأثار' (Rabat Al-Athar) because it is said to house a piece of wood and iron believed to be relics of Prophet Muhammad. According to historical accounts, these relics were acquired by Taj al-Din Muhammad from the Bani Ibrahim of Yanbu for sixty thousand silver dirhams.While رباط الأثار may not be as widely visited as some of Cairo's more famous attractions, it provides a unique opportunity to explore a quieter, historically significant site.
