Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Luxor Temple, head southwest towards the Nile Corniche road. Once you reach the Corniche, turn left and walk along the riverbank. Continue walking for about 20 minutes until you reach the ferry port. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to cross the Nile. After crossing, you will arrive at the West Bank. Once on the West Bank, exit the ferry and look for the local minibuses or tuk-tuks that are heading towards Deir el-Bahari. Take one of these and inform the driver of your destination. The ride should take approximately 25 minutes.

Minibus
From your accommodation in Luxor, make your way to the main road where local minibuses operate. Look for a minibus that is marked for the West Bank or Deir el-Bahari. The fare is usually quite cheap, around 5-10 EGP. Once aboard, inform the driver that you wish to go to Deir el-Bahari. The minibus will take you directly to the entrance of the site, which is about a 30-minute ride. When you arrive, pay attention to the surrounding area, as there are often local guides available to offer tours.

If you prefer a more traditional experience, you can hire a horse cart (calèche) from various locations in Luxor. Start at the Luxor Temple or any central location where horse carts are available. Negotiate a fare with the driver before you set off. The journey to Deir el-Bahari takes about 30-40 minutes, and you can enjoy the scenic views of the West Bank along the way. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they know the route to Deir el-Bahari.
