Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from Luxor Temple, exit the temple grounds and head north on Al-Mahdi Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Khaled Ibn El Walid Street. Turn right onto Khaled Ibn El Walid Street and walk until you reach the Luxor Corniche. Once at the Corniche, turn left and walk along the Nile River for about 3 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views. Keep walking until you see the signs for Karnak Temple on your left. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at the entrance of Karnak Temple.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From Luxor Temple, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Khaled Ibn El Walid Street. Board a local minibus heading towards Karnak (look for buses with 'Karnak' displayed on the front). The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Disembark at the Karnak Temple stop. You will see the entrance to the temple as you get off the bus.

  • Horse-drawn carriage (Calèche)

    From Luxor Temple, find a calèche (horse-drawn carriage) parked nearby. Agree on a fare with the driver (usually around 50-100 EGP, depending on your negotiation skills). Once you’re in the carriage, the driver will take you on a scenic route through the streets of Luxor, heading towards Karnak Temple.
