Great Day in the Simien Mountains

We spent one day visiting Simien Mountains National Park with Simien Mountain Trekking and Tours, and we really enjoyed the experience. From the beginning, everything was organized well. The communication was easy, the pickup was on time, and the whole day went smoothly. Our guide was friendly and easy to talk to, and he knew the area very well. He gave us information about the mountains, the local people, and the wildlife, but also gave us enough time to simply enjoy the scenery. The Simien Mountains themselves are incredible. The views are even more impressive in person, especially the huge cliffs and valleys. We made several stops at viewpoints and also did some walking, which was a great way to experience the landscape rather than just driving through it. One of our favorite parts of the day was seeing the Gelada monkeys. We were lucky enough to get quite close to them and watch them in their natural environment. It was definitely one of those moments that made the trip special. The roads in the mountains can be quite rough in places, but our driver was careful and experienced, so we always felt safe. We never felt rushed, and the team was flexible when we wanted to stop for photos or spend a little more time at a particular place. What we liked most was that the trip didn't feel overly formal or like we were just being taken from one tourist spot to another. We could ask questions, talk with our guide, and enjoy the day at our own pace. If you are visiting Gondar and have only one day for the Simien Mountains, we would definitely recommend doing this trip. Of course, one day is not enough to see everything in the park, but it gives you a really good taste of the landscape and wildlife. Thank you to the whole team at Simien Mountain Trekking and Tours for a great day. We came back tired but very happy, with lots of photos and some great memories of the Simien Mountains. We would be happy to use them again if we return to Ethiopia. 🇪🇹 Highly recommended!
