If you are traveling by car, you will first need to navigate to Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia, which is the nearest major city to Mount Entoto. From Addis Ababa, take the Bole Road heading north. After approximately 6 km, turn left onto the Entoto Road. Follow this road for about 10 km until you reach the base of Mount Entoto. Parking is available at the entrance to the mountain area. Note that you may encounter some tolls along the way.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can start your journey from any part of Oromia Region to Addis Ababa. Once in Addis Ababa, head to the Merkato bus station. Look for a minibus (also known as 'bajaj') heading towards Entoto. The fare for the minibus is approximately 10-20 Ethiopian Birr. Inform the driver that you want to go to Mount Entoto. The journey will take about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the base of Mount Entoto, you may need to walk or take a local taxi to reach the summit, which is roughly a 3 km uphill hike.

You can also opt for a taxi from Addis Ababa directly to Mount Entoto. This is a more comfortable option but will be more expensive. Negotiate the fare with the taxi driver before starting your journey; expect to pay around 300-500 Ethiopian Birr for a one-way trip. The taxi will take you directly to the entrance of Mount Entoto.

Bicycle
For the more adventurous travelers, renting a bicycle in Addis Ababa is an option. You can find several bicycle rental shops in the city. Once you have your bicycle, head north via Bole Road and then Entoto Road. It’s approximately a 16 km ride to the base of Mount Entoto, and the uphill climb may be challenging, but the views along the way are rewarding. Be sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water.
