Getting There

    From the main village of Koltur, head northwest towards the trail leading to Kolturshamar. The trail begins near the northern end of the village. Follow the well-marked path that leads through scenic landscapes. The hike to Kolturshamar is approximately 2 kilometers and should take about 30 to 40 minutes. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for varying terrain.

  • Boat Shuttle

    During the summer months, a boat shuttle operates from Gamlarætt marina on Streymoy island to Koltur. The boat trip takes approximately 20 minutes. From the dock on Koltur, follow the path towards the village and then continue towards the marked trail to Kolturshamar. A round-trip boat shuttle ticket costs approximately 250 DKK.
