Getting There

  • Driving

    From Tórshavn, drive north on Route 10, crossing the Nordskala Bridge to Eysturoy. Continue north on Route 62 towards Eiði. Before reaching Eiði, turn right at the sign for Funningur and Gjógv. Follow the road into Gjógv. Note that the road via Gjáarskarð can be precarious and is closed in winter; consider the Funning route instead. Parking is available in a designated area near the harbor. Expect a drive of approximately one hour from Tórshavn. There are no tolls on this route. Parking is free.

    From Tórshavn, take bus route 400 to Oyrarbakki. From Oyrarbakki, transfer to bus route 201, which will take you directly to Gjógv. The total journey time is approximately 41 minutes. A single bus fare within the region typically costs around 30 DKK. Check the SSL website (ssl.fo) for the most up-to-date bus schedules.
