Discover more about Sunset Viewpoint

Located in the remote village of Gásadalur, the Sunset Viewpoint is a prime location for experiencing the natural beauty of the Faroe Islands. The viewpoint offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, dramatic cliffs, and the iconic islet of Tindhólmur. It's an ideal spot to witness the sky ablaze with vibrant colors during sunset. Gásadalur itself is nestled between lush green fields and towering mountains on Vágar Island. Until 2004, the village was isolated, accessible only by a strenuous hike over the mountains. The construction of the Gásadalstunnilin tunnel in 2004 connected the village to the rest of the island, making it more accessible to visitors. Despite increased accessibility, Gásadalur has retained its unspoiled nature and tranquil atmosphere. From the viewpoint, visitors can often spot puffins nesting on the cliffs (in season) and enjoy the serene environment. The nearby Múlafossur Waterfall, where the river plunges 60 meters into the ocean, adds to the dramatic scenery. The village also offers a glimpse into traditional Faroese life, with its charming houses and friendly locals.
