Colo-I-Suva Forest Park, pronounced 'Tholo-ee-Suva,' is a 4.97 square kilometer (2.5 sq km) haven of lush rainforest, offering a cool and peaceful escape from Suva's urban environment. Established in 1952 to combat excessive logging, the park has become a sanctuary for both local and tourist visitors.The park features over 6.5km of walking trails that wind through verdant landscapes, leading to clear natural pools and stunning vistas. The Waisila Creek flows through the park, creating numerous swimming holes and waterfalls, including the popular Waisila Falls with its famous rope swing. Visitors can also explore a 0.5km nature trail, perfect for observing the local flora.Colo-I-Suva is home to diverse birdlife, with 16 unique species, including the Fiji Goshawk and Blue-Crested Broadbill. Birdwatchers can pick up a bird guide at the visitor center for a more enriching experience.
