Vizewachtmeister Xavier Brummer, a Bavarian soldier, died in Espoo in 1918 during the Finnish Civil War. While the exact cause of his death remains uncertain, it is believed he may have died by suicide or in an accident due to battle fatigue. In 1923, a memorial stone replaced the original wooden cross that marked his grave. The memorial was designed by Ville Vallgren and crafted by Guido Eriksson. The inscription on the stone reads: "Hier Ruht Vizewachtmeister Xavier Brummer Bay. Geb.batterie 12. Geb. am 30.3.1891. gest. am 12.4.1918. in treuem gedenken Alberga Schutzkorps". Today, the memorial invites visitors to reflect on the past and appreciate the surrounding nature.
