Public Transport

From Helsinki Central Railway Station, take tram lines 7 or 9 directly to West Terminal 2. The journey takes approximately 10-15 minutes. A single tram ticket costs around €3.10 and can be purchased via the HSL mobile app or ticket machines at the tram stop.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available throughout Helsinki. A taxi ride from the city center to West Terminal 2 typically costs between €15-€25, depending on traffic and the taxi company. Lähitaksi and Taksi Helsinki are the main taxi operators with stands located right outside the terminal.

Driving

If driving, follow Länsiväylä (Route 51) and take Exit 9. Short-term parking is available near the terminal entrance for drop-offs. For long-term parking, use the Satamaparkki car park, located 300-400 meters from the terminal. Pre-booking online at satamaparkki.fi is recommended. Drive-in parking is also possible, with payment via EasyPark, Taskuparkki, ParkMan apps, or payment machine. Parking fees vary, but expect to pay around €2-4 per hour.

West Terminal 2, located in the Jätkäsaari district, is a vital hub connecting Helsinki to the Baltic states. Opened in February 2017, the terminal was designed to accommodate the increasing ferry traffic, especially the popular Helsinki-Tallinn route. The terminal's architecture, designed by PES-Architects, is both functional and visually striking, resembling a water jet aircraft from above. The design emphasizes smooth passenger flow, reducing ferry turnaround times to as little as an hour.The terminal features a spacious departure lounge with 15-meter high glass walls, offering panoramic views of the sea and docking ferries. The building integrates sustainable design elements, including solar panels for lighting. Inside, passengers can find various services such as restaurants, cafes, ATMs, and service points for Tallink Silja Line and Eckerö Line.West Terminal 2 primarily serves ferries to Tallinn operated by Tallink Silja Line (Megastar, MyStar, and Victoria I) and Eckerö Line (MS Finlandia). The terminal is well-connected to Helsinki's city center and other transport hubs via tram, bus, and taxi services.
